Bathroom Floor Surfacing Selection.
When considering bathroom floor surfacing, ceramic or porcelain tile is the obvious best choice. It is simply a no-brainer. The only characteristic of tile I have ever heard mentioned as a reason to avoid it is that it is “cold.” Well, here on Florida’s Treasure Coast, that characteristic is most appreciated.
Tile is an appropriate material for every surface in a bathroom. Whether it’s for dry floor areas, shower floors and walls, tub surrounds, or wainscot, you can’t go wrong with tile. But, a problem with choosing tile for the bathroom surfacing material does exist. There are just so many design and material choices available. 🙂
Tile flooring offers so many different styles and looks that it’s impossible to mention them all. Because flooring materials are an integral part of your interior design, and your choice of surfacing material determines the difficulty of installation, it’s wise to educate yourself on the flooring options available as well as the benefits and drawbacks of each. That said, there are lots of “pros” and few “cons” went considering ceramic or porcelain tile as a flooring surface, not only in a bathroom, but anywhere in a home. I recently read the statement:
“Carpet in the kitchen or tile in the bedroom is virtually unheard of and for good reason.” NOT!
Half the sentence make sense; The other half is ridicules. If you live in Port St. Lucie, Florida and have tile floors in your bedroom, you quickly appreciate the cooling effects of ceramic tile’s mass and the lower electric bills from FPL that go with it.
Regardless of the type of bathroom floor surfacing you choose, ceramic tile is a beautiful flooring choice for any home.
