Bathroom Floor Tile Surfacing Selection

Bathroom Floor Tile Surfacing Selection in 2016.

Bathroom floor tile and ceramic tiled tub surround and wallsWhen considering bathroom floor tile  and wall surfacing, ceramic or porcelain tile is the obvious best choice.  It is simply a no-brainer.  The only characteristic of tile I have ever heard mentioned as a reason to avoid it is that it is “cold.”  Well, here on Florida’s Treasure Coast, that characteristic is most appreciated.

Tile is an appropriate material for every surface in a bathroom. Whether it’s for dry floor areas, shower floors and walls, tub surrounds, or wainscot, you can’t go wrong with tile.

When the bathroom is ready for an update, look to the year’s trends to define your style.  When you’re ready to start designing a bathroom that’s perfect for you, take a look at both cutting-edge and traditional tiles for your bathroom remodel.

Bathroom Tile Ideas.

You can’t go wrong with the classics.  For instance,  consider a favorites like white subway tile and white marble.  Transitional tile has a lot of classic elements but a twist in the details makes a difference. Try longer, larger tiles in combination with more traditional shapes for a transitional update.

Or, turn to something fresh and new like grey stone tile or a glazed ceramic in any number of shades of grey.  The demand for these shades in tile is huge so the selection is better than ever.

Bathroom Design Practicality

Where do you stand on practicality?

Bathroom Renovation - Rectified Floor
Bathroom Remodeling – Rectified Floor Tile

The home architectural industry is a practical place and home builders are on the whole practical people. Yet, the fact that there is a practical tradition in architecture is little understood and this practicality takes many forms.

Our concept of beauty in architecture is driven by practicality.  But the chance of finding beauty is higher if you don’t work on it directly.  Each of us seems to have their own particular idea of practicality,  a concept of ‘what we want out of life’ against which we judge our experiences.

Slate Bathroom Flooring

Choose Slate for Your St. Lucie Bathroom Flooring.

Slate, a natural stone tile, just might be the ideal surface of choice in the bathroom.  When choosing bathroom flooring your main consideration should be functionality, durability,  and cost.  Slate bathroom flooring scores well when all competing products are considered.

Bella Slate – High quality natural stone.

In regard to functionality, the main consideration for bathroom flooring is  moisture.   There are no moisture problems with slate bathroom flooring.  Unlike granite and marble, slate is non-porous. It cleans up very easily and does not have a tendency to harbor bacteria. It won’t absorb liquids, so it won’t stain from  cleaners since they can’t penetrate its surface. Slate is highly heat resistant and resistant to etching and scratching. Scratches are easily rubbed out.

Bathroom Remodeling – Port St. Lucie Bathroom Renovation

Custom Bathroom Tub Surround Installation Using Ceramic Tile.

The bathroom, the most remodeled room in Port St Lucie homes, is a private place that should suit your needs. It is also the most expensive room in the house to renovate. That said, research has shown that bathroom remodeling is highly cost effective, as it increases a home’s value more per dollar spent than any other home renovation project. Often, a bathroom remodeling project is started more from necessity than simply a desire to increase a home’s value or charm. When something breaks or deteriorates in the bathroom, it must be fixed. Because a bathroom is wet and humid, it is a breeding ground for mold and wood damage. If mold or wood damage is part of the problem, there is no option but to fix it. That fix is ofter not quick and simple.
